If big is what you’re after, look no further than the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, North Carolina. Everything about this venue offers patrons the biggest and the best, from the greatest acts in the entertainment world, to a massively awesome sound system, to an astounding seating capacity. The amphitheatre is run by Live Nation Entertainment, the company known for unfailingly fantastic concerts. Located on University City’s Pavilion Boulevard, the venue has a whopping capacity of 19,500, including lawn seats. It was originally built in 1991 as the Blockbuster Pavilion and later renamed the Verizon in 2000. But the Amphitheatre’s success has continued unimpeded by any such changes and has been the location of many historical moments in music history. Paul McCartney ended his “New World Tour” on this stage in 1993, an event which was broadcasted to the entire nation. Duran Duran played a memorable set in 2005 and Ozzfest and Warped Tour have both come through this phenomenal locale.
The awesome sound system and enthusiastic vibe of the place have attracted a variety of different acts, including Van Halen, Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Mraz, and Kelly Clarkson. During the warm months, there is nothing better than Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre concert tickets for the amazing touring musicians that come through town. Whether you’re in a seat or out on the grass armed with blankets and lawn chairs (which are available at the venue), an open-air concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater is sure to be a live show you’ll never forget.
