Its day job entails hosting the Los Angeles Lakers, but in between games, the center offers up some of the biggest concerts and events on Earth. Hollywood is a must-see, but no trip to Los Angeles is truly complete without Staples Center concert tickets.

The Staples Center is a new venue, having just been constructed in 1998 for a hefty price tag of $375 million. The site is 950,000 square feet and seats an average of 200,000 fans for basketball games and concert events. Bruce Springsteen and the E street band welcomed it to commercial use on October 17th, 1999, and there hasn’t been a silent night at the center since. Between the sold out Lakers games and global music tours, the center is an unstoppable tour de force of Los Angeles and global performance events.

In 2009, the Center took an online survey for its 10th anniversary to determine the center’s 10 greatest moments. For a location of its caliber, the choices were hard, since its mere 10 years of existence packed in an entire lifetime of show-stopping moments and iconic achievements. Eventually, the candidates were pared down. Moments like Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game in 2006 and Travis Pastrana’s double back flip (also in 2006) took top billing. The number one moment? Robert Horry’s game-clinching shot over the Kings in the 2002 Western Conference finals.
