Owned and managed by the same people who own the Cuthbert Amphitheatre in Eugene, Orgeon, the Roseland Theater is located smack dab in the middle of Portland and offers a variety of great acts in a mid-sized venue. With a main ballroom, the Roseland features a huge stage, arena level production, and great sightline and acoustics. The Roseland can house around 1400 people and is famous for bringing artists such as Prince, Pearl Jam, and Bob Dylan to Portland. Indeed, the Roseland Theater is the best spot in the city to check out your favorite rocker in a smaller and slightly dingy atmosphere.
On top of having a cool performing space, the Roseland is attached to a first class restaurant, called Peter’s Room, which also can be converted to a tiny performance space. Headliners, such as the Strokes and John Mayer, used Peter’s Room as a launchpad in the early days of their careers. Reviewers love this concert option because of its intimate atmosphere. The Roseland is generally a standing room only kind of concert experience. They do offer a balcony where guests can sit and enjoy their favorite bands, but this space is sold on a first come first serve basis, so be sure to get those tickets or general Roseland Theatre concert tickets early! One downside with the Roseland Theater is it tends to get hot during concerts. Due to all the dancing on the main ballroom floor, the entire space tends to heat up fast, so be sure to dress accordingly. On the flipside, ticket prices for shows at the Roseland tend to be cheap to decently priced, so going to see a show at this venue won’t break the bank.
