Killington, Vermont: home of the Eastern United States’ largest ski resort, the source of the Ottauquechee River, and one of the country’s most interesting concert venues. The Pickle Barrel Nightclub was founded in the 1960’s to fulfill the demand for a dance club and local hangout. Originally called the Sugar Shack, the place built its reputation on showing films and serving drinks during the resort’s early days. In 1971, a local impresario, by the name of Jack Giguere, crashed his car into the front of the building. Giguere decided to buy the space and converted it into the successful music spot it is today.
In 1999, the building was once again renovated to include the best possible sound and light systems, skyrocketing the Pickle Barrel into distinction for its spectacular show quality. The venue effectively combines the advantages of modern technology with the antique and idyllic charm of the Northeast. For this reason, musicians love playing the Pickle Barrel. It is also the driving force behind the droves of Pickle Barrel Nightclub concert tickets holders that keep coming back for live acts.
Since its start as a live music joint, the Pickle Barrel has played host to some of the greatest acts of the era. On the list are Snoop Dogg, Mashwork Orange, the Pretenders, the Wailers, and many other great bands that have graced this Vermont stage over the years. The space also houses two stages, two balconies, a dance-focused floor level, and four fantastic bars serving up tasty drinks, pizza, and hot wings. For those who like to explore other culinary options, the Wobbly Barn Steakhouse and the aptly named Garlic, are both in walking distance on Killington Road. It is an indisputable fact that any food or drink pairs perfectly with great live music and dancing.
