Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel is a tiny concert venue that succeeds in booking big national names for smaller intimate-feeling concerts in Providence, Rhodes Island. In 2012 alone, the space saw names like Cake, Flogging Molly, The Avett Brothers, The Fray, Deathcab for Cutie, and Marilyn Manson. What’s more, the ticket prices are highly prorated, so if you’re okay with a seat farther from the stage, you can see your favorite bands for a fairly good price. This detail is partly because the original Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel has since merged with The Strand, so it is able to bring in great bands for a lower price, all while still maintaining that indie-rock feel.
Located a short walk away from the Providence Place Mall, Lupo’s has an absolutely beautiful front hall complete with chandeliers and wooden floors. Another nice touch is that there are spaces within the venue that you can go if the crowds are getting a bit too much. The place does tend to get packed quickly, so make sure you get your concert tickets for Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel as soon as possible. Also, you will have to pass through security to get into the venue, so be sure to call ahead or to check their website for a list of things not allowed into the space! For general admission shows, you will have to wait in a long line, but reviewers promise that you will be rewarded with a great show as soon as you get in. Furthermore, the venue is famous for having pretty stiff drinks, so be sure get your poison and enjoy the show!
