Keeping with this idea, The Launchpad venue has banked on this theme and has crafted the ultimate concert experience with an “out of this world” atmosphere. Located on Central Avenue in Albuquerque, The Launchpad is famous for being the best little nightclub to see your favorite bands in a smaller setting. What is special about the Launchpad is that there seems to be a local culture that catches shows there on a regular basis. The venue is aptly named for the many local bands that made their debuts on its stage. Bands like The Shins, Dropkick Murphys, Pavement, and the Donnas all got their start at this famous little nightclub.

The space is bi-level with 1950’s style glitter booths and an upstairs that houses a few pool tables and video games. Ticket prices are cheap, even for big name shows, so concert tickets for the Launchpad are always bound to go fast. The space tends to get crowded for bigger shows, so make sure to get there early. On top of great shows, the Launchpad offers what some call “the best happy hour in town.” From five to seven, the whole bar (top shelf and all) is half priced. Every local has a story about his or her first time at the Launchpad and is proud to share it. Indeed, the Launchpad seems to be a special place embedded deep into Albuquerque culture.
