The Klipsch Music Center opened in 1989 under the moniker of the Deer Creek Music Center. Its capacity of 24,000 seats made it the largest outdoor venue in the city, a distinction it holds to this day. The seats are split between a 6,000-seat pavilion and an outdoor lawn that provides spots for the remaining 18,000. In 2001, the name was changed to the Verizon Wireless Music Center and was recently changed once more to its current nomenclature.
