The Hollywood Palladium is one of Los Angeles’ most famous venues. This hip concert hall boasts an impressive history of musical acts and performances while managing to continually draw in the best contemporary acts from around the world. Its stylish architecture and beloved atmosphere make The Palladium concert tickets a top commodity in Hollywood entertainment opportunities.
The theater was built in 1940, replacing the original location of The Paramount Studio lot. The main collaborators on the project were Norman Chandler, who funded it, and Maurice Cohen, who oversaw its construction. They enlisted the help of renowned architect Gordon Kaufman (designer of the Hoover Dam) to create the trendy dance floor. Frank Sinatra played at the grand opening on October 31, 1940, beginning a long list of notable musicians and performers to grace the Palladium’s stage.
Throughout the years, the Palladium built up its legend and position as one of Hollywood’s best venues. Entire music movements came and passed through its hallowed stage, and it was a crucial host to American propaganda broadcasts during WWII. Its pop culture appeal grew in the capital of pop culture, and it became a valuable location with instant recognition in a variety of movies, shows and concert recordings. The climax of “The Blues Brothers” and scenes from the movie “1941” are just some of the many feature films to showcase the theater.
The Palladium continues to draw top artists to its historical stage. Its amazing location on the Sunset Strip makes it a prime spot for any Hollywood adventure. Famous comedy venues, the Hollywood walk of Fame, and Ming’s Chinese Theater are all within easy striking distance, making post and pre-show excursions a breeze.
