The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts, also known as PAC, is located in Anchorage Alaska. The facility first opened its doors in 1988. For two decades, a group of performers and entertainment enthusiasts in Alaska wanted a place where the community could meet and experience live performance and art. They tried for several decades to get funding from the state. Finally, almost three decades later, the state of Alaska provided funding for a facility to be constructed. It was this funding and a vote from members in Alaska that allowed for the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts to be born.
