Many of these musical hotspots can be found in Burlington, Vermont’s charming central hub. Located on the gorgeous Lake Champlain, the city is home to the University of Vermont and the Magic Hat Brewery, both great locations for pre-concert fun. Burlington’s champion venue is Higher Ground, an energetic site that attracts a wide spectrum of artists, from Skrillex, to Gogol Bordello, to Matisyahu. A quick jaunt south will take you to the Champlain Valley Expo. Vermonters love their outdoors, and this open-air setting takes full advantage of the lovely countryside. The surrounding town, Essex Junction, may be small, but rest assured, there’s plenty of culture to be found in the rowdy location.
