Michigan concert tickets are always in high demand and popular venues often sell out quickly. Probably the biggest and most remarkable of these venues is The Palace of Auburn Hills, or simply, “The Palace.” Opened in 1988, The Palace is most widely known as a sports arena and the home of the Detroit Pistons. The Palace has a history of hosting some major performances such as The Police, Madonna, and The Dave Matthews Band.

Another incredible site in the Mitten is the Pontiac Silverdome. Located in Pontiac, Michigan, the venue is famous for its silver roof, supported solely by the air pressure within the stadium. While the Silverdome was once home for the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Pistons, and the Michigan Panthers, the spot has housed some pretty incredible musical acts as well. In 1975, The Who christened the Silverdome with a concert for 76,000 fans. Since then, the Silverdome stage has seen the likes of Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, and even Pope John Paul II.

A tour of Michigan concert venues just wouldn’t be complete without a stop in Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan Wolverines. Most notably in Ann Arbor, the concert venue The Blind Pig has the unofficial title of being a home for blues musicians and indie rock bands. In 1989, Nirvana performed at the Blind Pig and later stated in an interview that it was their favorite venue to play. Since then, a tribute to the band lines a wall near the entrance of the site. Also in Ann Arbor is The Ark, a nationally known venue for folk music. Established in 1965, the space began as a place for students to gather outside of campus. The Ark has since transformed into a space for students and musicians to meet and host jam sessions.
