The Monkees and A Midsummer's Night: Band Announces Summer Tour Dates

The Monkees will return to the stage this summer and grace long-time fans on a 24-date American tour. The tour, appropriately titled "A Midsummer's Night With The Monkees," will kick-off on July 15th in Port Chester, New York.

After the band's reunion tour in late 2012, which featured surviving members Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork, the demand was clear: "The reaction to the last tour was euphoric," Mickey Dolenz told the Rolling Stone. "It was pretty apparent there was a demand for another one."

Nostalgic feelings are sure to run high, as the show will highlight the band's story and take fans on a chronological ride throughout the years with the use of archival video and photographs.

While last year's tour seemed to emphasize the untimeley passing of Davy Jones in February 2012, this time around, the evening will not include as many tributes. "This time we probably won't lean so heavily on the David situtation," says Dolenz. "I think we have to move on. Everybody has to on. He'll always be remembered and acknowledged, but possibly not as much on that particular tour."

Fans, rest assured. There will be no lack of top tracks performed: "We will, of course, still perform 'Daydream Believer' and all the other hits."
