‘Red’ hot Taylor Swift to blaze on tour across the U.S.
Grammy-winning artist Taylor Swift will kick-off her “Red” tour on March 13, 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska. Of her fourth studio album’s sixteen songs, the 22-year old wrote an impressive nine of them alone; the remaining seven were co-written with the talented Max Martin, Liz Rose, Dan Wilson, Gary Lightbody and Ed Sheeran, the red-headed British singer/songwriter, who will also open for Taylor on the tour. Sheeran also joins Swift on her new album in the track "Everything Has Changed.”
In a recent interview with MTV News, Swift shared how when she first saw Sheeran’s music video for ‘Lego House,’ she was blown away by his voice. Swift, who was in Australia at the time, found a way to get his album, even though it was not on sale in the U.S. yet. From there, she says she became a huge fan.
Projected to sell more than a million copies during its first week on the market, “Red” debuted at the top on Sunday, scoring Swift her first U.K. No. 1 album.
On tour, Swift plans plans to play 58 shows in 45 cities in 29 states and three provinces, including stops in Miami, Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Dallas and Los Angeles. When asked about her upcoming tour, Swift says she couldn’t be more excited. “I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can’t wait to share the new show with all my fans!”
Even at her youthful age, Swift says she has a really clear idea of when she wants her singing career to be over -- and it's not up to her.
"I just really don't want to do this after people get tired of me," she said. "I want to know where that line is, and if I overstay my welcome, I'll go write songs for other people.”
While Swift shares a lot about herself in interviews, one topic that she continues to remain quiet about is her lovelife.
"I think, just for me, my stories sound better in songs than interview quotes," she said.
