Back on The Map: R Kelly Officially Announces his "Single Ladies Tour"
R. Kelly’s amazing voice and ever expanding ability to stay relevant have made him one of the most successful performers in the history of popular music. With his 11th studio album, Write Me Back, released earlier this summer, Kelly plans to hit the road with the Single Ladies Tour.
Beginning on October 13 in Columbia, South Carolina, the entire tour is scheduled to reach 22 cities before ending on December 7 in Merrillville, Indiana. In their heavy anticipation for his arrival, The Theatre at Madison Square Garden will hold a special presale on October 11 with limited tickets for Kelly’s show on November 21.
It certainly won’t be one any R. Kelly fans will want to miss. According to Billboard, Kelly says he has "a lot of exciting surprises for this tour,” with a lot of different stuff I want to try on stage.”
The 45-year-old Kelly’s timeless sound has gifted him with indisputable success, as proven evident by Write Me Back, debuting at number five on the United States Billboard 200 chart. Throughout his 20 year career, Kelly has sold 54 million albums, won three Grammy awards (out of an astonishing 23 nominations), and was named the most successful R&B artist of the last 25 years by Billboard Magazine.
