Coldplay and Jay-Z to Ring In the New Year with New York
Close your eyes, for a moment, and imagine this:
It’s New Years Eve, in New York City.
You’re inside Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. You’re dancing the night away, encompassed by the words of two very different performers, each with two very different sounds...
‘I got 99 problems...’
‘I used to rule the world...’
We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Coldplay will wrap up 2012 by returning to the U.S. for three final shows, one of which is a very special New Year’s Eve concert with our favorite hard-knock rapper (and producer, entrepreneur, hubby-to-Beyonce) Jay-Z.
The New Year's Eve show will be preceded by two headline shows for the band, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on December 29 and at Barclays Center, Brooklyn on December 30. Naturally 7 will be the supporting act for the December 29 and 30 shows. The three year-end dates mark Coldplay's only remaining US shows for 2012.
This isn’t the first time Coldplay has celebrated the new year with long-term friend and collaborator Jay-Z . In 2010, the band shared the bill with him at a Las Vegas concert. More recently, they teamed up onstage at the London 2012 Paralympic Games Closing ceremony.
The two Brooklyn dates also mark the first shows that Coldplay has put on sale in NYC since September 2005.
Even though tickets for the Uncasville show will go on sale on Friday, November 16, at 10 AM ET and tickets for the two Brooklyn shows will go on sale on Saturday, November 17, at 10 AM ET - ConcertTickets.com already has access to tickets for all shows!
