After breaking up in 1999, that band became Three Days Grace and has continued to produce music to this day. The group was signed to Jive Records in 2003 after being sought after by the company’s president. The artists released their self-titled debut shortly thereafter, which contained the group’s mega-hit “I Hate Everything About You.” The demo version of this song is what got the band their record deal, and it was eventually described as Three Days Grace’s breakout hit. The album sold well and was certified platinum by the RIAA in 2004. The group toured heavily in support of this album and didn’t release a new album until 2006. This album, One-X, was both a financial and critical success and is widely considered to be a smart move on the band’s part.
Although their most recent release, 2009’s Life Starts Now, wasn’t initially as successful as their previous releases, it still debuted at number three on the charts and eventually became their most successful album to date. The group has been recognized and honored with a variety of award nominations, including nominations for awards at the Juno Awards and Much Music Awards. The group is currently working on a fourth album.
