The Fray is an American alternative rock band from Denver, Colorado. The group formed in 2002 when the three met at various church functions and events. The band plays regularly to sold out shows, packed with fans who purchased concert tickets for The Fray well in advance.

After releasing a highly publicized string of E.P’s, the group was signed by Epic Records in 2004. Less than a year later, The Fray released their debut album How to Save a Life. Despite not originally being released as a single, the song, “How to Save a Life,” quickly gained popularity after being featured on several television shows, including Grey’s Anatomy. The album itself charted in the top fifteen and was ranked #21 on Billboard’s list of the Best Digital Albums of the Decade. Their second release, a self-titled album, was released in 2009 and debuted at number one. It was nominated for the Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Although critical reception was less positive then their debut release, this album sold more copies. Scars & Stories was released in February 2012 and debuted at number four, selling 87,000 copies its first week.

The artists have been nominated for eleven awards and won four.
