Before releasing their major label debut, Infest, in 2000, Papa Roach released one record and toured incessantly to build a fan base. Infest was a highly commercially successful album and eventually went on to become the 20th best-selling album of 2000. It was certified platinum and earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. It’s their best-selling album to date and went on to sell 7 million copies worldwide. Although their next release, Lovehatetragedy, didn’t sell as well as its predecessor, it did achieve gold status and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 Chart. 2004’s Getting Away With Murder attained equal popularity to the previous releases and has been certified platinum. As of 2010, the album has sold close to 3 million units. Unfortunately, Papa Roach’s next three releases have not received certification in any country, but the group continues to experience success worldwide.

In addition to producing music, the members of Papa Roach take part in various humanitarian efforts. A secret message can be found at the end of the group’s most recent album, and the message asks fans to text a number to donate $5 to help fight homelessness and hunger. The group has been nominated for two Grammys and one MTV Video Music Award during their music career. An eighth studio album is rumored to be in the works and should be released sometime in 2012.
