OneRepublic is an American alternative rock band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. The group formed in 2002 and achieved massive success on MySpace. At the time, they were the most prominent unsigned act on the website. In 2006, OneRepublic signed with Mosley Music Group and released their debut album in 2007. Although they’ve only released two albums during their time as a band, the group quickly gained popularity and grew accustomed to playing sold out shows, packed with fans who purchased their concert tickets for One Republic well in advance.

Their debut album, 2007’s Dreaming Out Loud, charted well and has been certified gold by the RIAA.  The album followed two years of massive success on MySpace, where over 28 million song counts have been recorded. The album has been released in Australia, the U.S., Canada, Europe and New Zealand. Their follow-up album, 2009’s Waking Up, fared well on the charts and peaked at number 21. So far, the album has sold 400,000 copies in the United States and 800,000 in total. The album received positive reviews and has OneRepublic fans excited for whatever future albums the band may release.

In total, OneRepublic has been nominated for sixteen awards. They have won three: Choice Music Rock Track for “Stop and Stare” at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, Best Hook Up for “Apologize,” with Timbaland at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards, and Band of the Year (International) at the 2010 ESKA Music Awards in Poland. In February 2012, the group revealed via Twitter that a third album is in the works and that a single is expected to drop in May.
