Their 2006 release, Black Holes and Revelations, was on many best albums of the year lists and earned the band a Mercury Prize nomination. They have been nominated for three Grammy Awards and won Best Rock Album for their most recent album, The Resistance (2009). This album topped the charts in nineteen countries and debuted at number three on the Billboard charts. “Exogenesis,” a three-part ballad, used over forty musicians during the recording process. The album is certified Gold, in the United States, and holds similar accolades in almost twenty other countries.

The band has been nominated for an outrageous amount of awards, with the total number almost exceeding 100. Notable awards the band has won include five MTV Music Awards, nine NME Awards, and four Kerrang! Awards. The nominations, awards, and praise for the band will continue for as long as they release albums; a band as innovative and energetic as Muse won’t fade from existence.

A sixth studio album is currently in the works, with a predicted release date of October 2012.
