It wasn’t until after college that Chesney pursued his country music career.
Chesney completed his first album, In My Wildest Dreams, with Capricorn Records in 1994 but signed with BNA records after Capricorn Record’s closure in 1995. His second album, Me and You, released in 1996, earned him a number two spot on the Billboard country charts. It was his third album, I Will Stand, that earned him a number one spot on the charts with the track “She’s Got It All.” The track remained number one for three consecutive weeks.
Kenny Chesney has been awarded six Country Music Association Awards, six Academy of Country Music awards, as well as many other country music titles. He has collaborated with several country music stars, such as Reba McEntire, Tracy Lawrence and Tim McGraw. Chesney also co-wrote Rascal Flatt’s single, “Take Me There,” along with Wendell Mobley and Neil Thrasher in 2007.
Chesney has also produced and narrated two films. His first film titled, The Color Orange, was based on his favorite football quarterback and Canadian Football League hall-of-famer, Condredge Holloway. He also recently produced and co-directed a sports film for ESPN, The Boys of Fall.
