Kaskade was born in 1971 and grew up in a suburb of Chicago called Northbrook. After completing his two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Japan, Kaskade moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah. While at the school, Kaskade owned and operated a record store, and his interest in music began to grow and flourish at this time. In 2000, Kaskade moved to San Francisco and began to work as an A&R Assistant at Om Records.
Although he released one album before the release of In the Moment, this album brought Kaskade his first top ten single and reached number five on the Hot Dance Club Party Chart put out by Billboard. Since the release of In the Moment, Kaskade has released seven other albums, the most recent being 2011’s Fire & Ice. In 2006, Kaskade left Om Records and signed with Ultra Records. Throughout his career, Kaskade has collaborated with a number of artists, including Deadmau5.
