Deftones are an American heavy metal rock band from Sacramento, California. The group was formed in 1988 and has consisted of the same five members since the bands inception. As of 2009, a stand-in has been taking the place of bassist Chi Cheng, who has been recovering from a near-fatal car accident. To date, they’ve released six studio albums and have left a lasting impression on the heavy metal rock scene. Each year, thousands purchase concert tickets for Deftones in the hopes of seeing the heavy metal rock heroes with their own eyes.
Their debut album Adrenaline, which was released in 1995, was certified Platinum in the United States and Silver in the United Kingdom. Overall, the album was received well by the public and established a long-lasting fan base for the band. 1997’s album, Around the Fur, wasn’t certified Platinum until 2011, but peaked at #29 on the Billboard 200 and was certified in both the United Kingdom and Australia. Their third release, White Pony, marked a significant growth in the sound of the band and is regarded by both fans and critics as their most mature-sounding album. It is also the best-selling Deftones album to date. The album has received certification in four countries, and the group won a Grammy in 2001, for the song “Elite.” 2003’s self-titled release achieved similar success, as did 2006’s Saturday Night Wrist. The most recent Deftones release was 2010’s Diamond Eyes, which is the bands highest charting album since their self-titled 2003 release.
The group is rumored to be working on a seventh studio album, which may or may not be released by the end of 2012. Regardless, the next time the group tours, be sure to head to ConcertTickets.com for your Deftones concert tickets!
